Hockey Fights Cancer Night
In partnership with OhioHealth and the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer
October 26, 2012
In partnership with OhioHealth, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9 and the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness month, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation welcomed local pediatric cancer Heroes and their families to the annual Hockey Fights Cancer game on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 as the Blue Jackets hosted the Red Wings raising more than $25,000 for the Foundation's pediatric cancer initiatives.
The Foundation hosts this annual game to raise awareness for this dreaded disease and raise funds for both critical research and support programs for the patients and their families. The Foundation has raised over $1 million dollars since 2000 in support of local pediatric cancer programs and research institutions. The Blue Jackets will honor Hockey Fights Cancer month throughout October with various programs and initiatives with our awareness night scheduled for Friday, October 26.
With a generous donation by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, representing all Franklin County officers, 100% of the proceeds of Hats For Heroes hat sales will be earmarked for the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation's pediatric cancer initiatives.
