At the beginning of each season, the Blue Jackets Foundation hosts its largest signature event, the Golf Classic presented by First Communications, at Double Eagle Club. This exclusive outing gives fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in a day of golf with their favorite Blue Jackets players in addition to playing one of the best courses in the country -- Double Eagle Club.
The foursomes enjoy a round of golf with a Blue Jackets celebrity, an exclusive Blue Jackets gift package, a lunch program presented by Huntington to draft the foursomes celebrity golfer, and a dinner and awards program presented by Nationwide at which winning foursomes are announced. The overall winning foursome’s names are etched into the prestigious Foundation Cup.
The event is the Foundation’s largest fundraiser each season, raising approximately $100,000 for the fight against pediatric cancer, education, children’s health and safety, and the development of youth and amateur hockey.
Congratulations to the winning fivesome: Gary Sims, Scott Knowles, #22 Mike Commodore, Jeff Febus, Brett Febus as they will permanently have their names etched in the Foundation Trophy Cup!
