The Columbus Blue Jackets and Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation are dedicated to promoting education within the Central Ohio community through various educational initiatives.
Elementary and middle schoolers across central Ohio are making healthier choices thanks to the 61 Club Good Health Challenge. To make it possible the Blue Jackets Foundation has partnered with Blue Jackets #61, Rick Nash, and the Columbus Dispatch Newspapers in Education program. Read more.
The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, led Blue Jackets players, front office staff and a host of community partners to build and dedicate “Blue Jackets Panther Park” which serves the students at the hockey club’s Columbus City School partner, Arlington Park Elementary. Read more.
The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation has dedicated 25% of its annual proceeds to the growth and support of amateur hockey in Columbus. Each season, a portion of these proceeds are specifically earmarked for an educational scholarship for a graduating high school senior. Read more.

A grant from the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation helps cover cost of providing classroom copies of The Columbus Dispatch for teacher and student use in schools in 17 central Ohio counties. The Columbus Blue Jackets Book Jackets program is a literary initiative in partnership with UNIVAR, established in 2000, to encourage students in grades K-8 to spend more of their free time reading. Students keep "score" of minutes read throughout a 4-week reading period and are rewarded with Blue Jackets prizes upon completion. Read more.

The Blue Jackets have invested in JA BizTown, a life-like city where kids in grades 4th through 6th grades become adults for the day by taking on jobs in different businesses, opening bank accounts, and managing personal and corporate finances.
